Découverte par les superstars pop-punk de Fall Out Boy, la formation emo américaine Panic! At the Disco voit le jour à Las Vegas en 2004 et prend d'assaut les charts dès 2015 avec A Fever You Can't Sweat Out alors que ses membres sont à peine en âge de voter. Avec une formule emo dansable aux accroches mélodiques pop, aux guitares punk et à l'approche sincère, le groupe s'impose dans l'ère MySpace, symbolisant les mutations à venir dans l'industrie musicale et livrant au fil des années une série d'albums à un public fidèle dont Pray for the Wicked, publié en 2018, constitue le sixième volet.
