Gingerbread Waffles Recipe with Cranberry Maple Syrup

Gingerbread Waffles with Cranberry Maple Syrup ⋆ Vintage Mountain Homestead (2)

Gingerbread is not just for Christmas cookies. I love to make it into just about anything. And now I have found a perfect waffle recipe that incorporates it, my gingerbread waffles. Including topping it with a sweet and tangy homemade syrup that has two simple ingredients: fresh cranberries and maple syrup.

The entire family just loves this breakfast. For one, they love waffles. I have to admit that I don’t make them often. Taking out the waffle iron and making the mess isn’t typically in my wheelhouse so early in the morning. To help speed things along, you can prep the waffle batter the night before, cover it, and set it in the fridge.

The cranberry maple syrup was easy to make. Throw all the ingredients of the syrup together in a small pot and simmer it before you even start the waffles. That way, you have plenty of time for all the ingredients to come together and the berries to burst apart.

Again, this turned out to be a family favorite and I hope your family enjoys them too.

Cost to make this recipe.

This great breakfast waffle and syrup comes to about $4.18 for about six servings of waffles and syrup or $0.70 per serving. This cost doesn’t include any extras like scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and/or fresh fruit.

If you grow your cranberries and make maple syrup, then you can reduce your price. I calculated the maple syrup with real pure syrup. You can easily use the fake kind if you wish. That will reduce the price of syrup.
