How to remove specific baby stains
How to get formula stains out of baby clothes
If feeding time got a bit bumpy and formula got everywhere, Tide has got your back. Remove the excess formula from the garment, then pre-treat it with a solution of laundry detergent and water before washing it as usual.
How to remove protein stains
Protein stains can include breast milk or formula, but even be non-food-related stains, such as diaper stains or spit-up. Removing the excess with a kitchen cloth can go a long way, especially if you can act quickly. As mentioned above, use a pre-treating solution before your regular wash to make the stain removal process more effective.
How to remove greasy stains
Greasy stains are different from other stains because grease is insoluble in water. A regular wash won’t likely be enough to get all the grease out of the stain, so pre-treatment is necessary in this case, too. If the stain is fresh, put some baking soda on it and start brushing it with an old tooth brush – this will help soak up the liquid. After you’ve brushed off all the baking soda, pour some dish soap on the garment, as it’s designed to fight grease. Leave it on the stain for 5-10 minutes, then put it in the washer and wash as usual.
How to remove fruit and vegetable stains
Fruit and vegetable stains can be a bit more tricky, but they can be tackled, too. Use a pre-treating solution as described above to ensure that even a berry stain will not leave a mark. Alternatively, you could try creating a solution made of one part vinegar and two parts water, and gently massage it into the stain. After 10 minutes, you should wash the garment as usual.
How to remove old stains that have set in already
When it comes to stains, the quicker you can act, the better chance you have to remove them. However, you don’t always have this advantage, so let’s see what you can do when you face an older stain that has already set in. Again, a pre-treating solution will be necessary for the best effect. Using a vinegar-based solution could also work: you could leave the garment in it overnight and wash it in the morning.
