Clients who have chosen to have professional newborn photos have never regretted it. Spending a few hours with a specialist newborn photographer to capture your baby's early days will be one of the best investments you will make, the joy you experience looking back at those images will grow with each year that passes.

These photos will hold a very special place in your heart that will last a lifetime. While you will always remember the moment your baby entered the world, memories can blur with time, and you may not fully recall how tiny they were at the beginning. Looking at those newborn images will bring back a flood of emotions.

It is particularly significant for me to include parents in newborn photo sessions. These images serve as a poignant reminder of how small your baby was in the beginning. Newborn sessions also offer parents a brief escape. During those initial weeks, we often find ourselves in pyjamas, managing only a couple of showers. Dressing up and feeling like yourself for a moment can be a refreshing break in those early days.

Babies grow fast, and with growth comes change which happens very quickly, especially during the early months after a baby is born.

Time passes quickly and before you know it days evolve into weeks, months, and years. Then you're suddenly gazing at a little adult, wondering where the time passed you by. The newborn phase is one of the shortest chapters of our lives which is why it’s so important to preserve this time, creating lifetime memories to look back on through photographs for you to look back on time and time again. We are lucky to have the luxury of specialist newborn photographers today, to create beautiful wall-worthy portraits that become talking pieces in your home.

As your children grow older, these images become cherished treasures. They will delight in reminiscing with you as they grow into adults, one day, then one day they will share them with their children and get passed down each generation whilst increasing in value, making it a priceless investment.

Each time you see these photos, featuring chubby cheeks, puckered lips, tiny fingers, and toes, your heart will swell with affection, rekindling a flood of emotions. I can assure you, it happens to me daily as I gaze at these portraits of my children in my home.

Engaging a professional newborn photographer alleviates the stress of capturing these fleeting moments. Instead, imagine savouring the experience of watching your precious baby being photographed. You could relax with a cup of coffee, nap (many parents do during sessions), catch up on social media, read a book, or indulge in your favourite TV show. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to be part of the photos with your child, creating a truly unique and enjoyable experience.

Considering becoming your newborn's professional photographer for the day isn’t as easy as you might think.

Your phone's camera is like a trusty sidekick, but compared to a pro, it's more like a side salad vs. a juicy steak. Pros have all the fancy gear, lighting tricks, and editing magic up their sleeves.

Baby photo ops are no child’s play! Without a pro's know-how, those Pinterest poses could turn into a baby yoga nightmare. Let’s keep those little joints and airways happy and safe, shall we?

Dress-up time for baby photos can quickly turn into a comedy sketch. Those cute store-bought outfits might just crumple baby's cuteness. A pro photographer knows the right gear and props to make your tiny model shine.

Hey there, elusive parent! Remember to jump in front of the camera for a change. Your kiddos will thank you for being in the frame with them in those precious moments.

Printing photos? Ain’t nobody got time for that! Our phones are like a black hole for pics. Let a pro handle your memories, so they don’t end up lost in digital limbo. Time to let those photos shine on your walls, not just hide in your phone!

As a newborn photographer myself, I have encountered both sides of the coin. When I was capturing images of my own babies, I faced challenges such as fatigue, reduced mobility post-birth after a C-section, and the constant need for nursing. Even as a professional photographer, it took me weeks to capture the perfect shots of my infants and it was months until I had enough time to edit them. The task became even more demanding with my second child, as I had to balance caring for a toddler and a newborn baby.

To alleviate the pressure of arranging photoshoots with both my babies, I decided to hire another photographer for family portraits. This choice removed the stress of posing my children together or worrying about my appearance in the pictures. I no longer had to struggle with setting timers for selfies to include myself with my babies in the photos. Witnessing someone else handle the photography session for me and my babies was a delightful experience. Every time I glance at those portraits displayed on my wall, they bring a smile to my face. Investing in a newborn photoshoot for your baby is incredibly valuable. You will never regret having professional images captured, especially if you are part of them. Not opting for this would have been a definite missed opportunity; those images are now my cherished family keepsakes.
