A Boutique Hotel and Rough-Luxe Taphouse in Edinburgh

On my recent trip back from New York I decided to stop off in Edinburgh for a couple nights. I haven’t been there in 5 years and it’s such an easy stopover I had to do it! It was a relaxing time seeing the castle, wandering the old town and staying at Rabble. I have to say, Rabble is the first luxe taphouse that I’ve stayed in. I really didn’t know that was a “thing.” But now I’m not so sure I can go back to just your average taphouse, sin luxe.

As you walk down the entrance stairs at Rabble you are invited in by the warm gold tones and greenery that fills the space. I felt like I entered into some kind of sanctuary from the cold Edinburgh streets. This is the type of place you go to where you’ll say you’re having 1…but end up staying for hours. Who would want to leave when you have a range of beers on tap, a well thought out co*cktail menu and delicious bites from the grill. Its seems the creators of Rabble thought ahead on this fact so they included just the right amount of rooms for a boutique stay.

The rooms at Rabble are everything you need and more, with a personal touch. All the essentials were there as well as some not so essential, but much appreciated items. Artisan standard of teas, fresh apples, excellent mini bar selection with Copa de Balon glassesto match, as well as proper shampoo and conditioner (it’s a pet peeve of mine when hotels are lacking in their bath products) kept me content. One of the very best inclusions in my eyes was the straighteners! Packing is always a struggle for me and that is one item that usually gets cut so I was ecstatic that I could actually do something with my hair before ‘heading’ out. I also loved the 2 super cozy throws which were from Walker Slater. So much nicer than one of those standard bed scarfs!

If you’re looking for a central location when staying in Edinburgh, Rabble has got you covered. I walked everywhere during my stay including to the old town and castle, Calton Hill and the high street shops. It really couldn’t have been more well placed. I was surprised to find that a boutique hotel with such a central location would cost from just £80 a night!

Now lets talk about the breakfast. Breakfast for me is the best meal of the day. I couldn’t have been happier with the breakfast options and I was delighted to see they used quality ingredients. And get this; breakfast is served until 12pm. You heard me, 12pm! No more FOMO on your delightful eggs and fresh juice, especially if you want to enjoy a late night in the Taphouse.

   Maybe I’ll have to make that stop on my next visit to England. The pictures looked so inviting.
