Ghost Style (2024)

'He who rules with his left rules the world.' Like a ghost, your punches are hard to see coming. Special Ability: Ghost Jab - you can fire of a near-instant, unreadable punch to start combos. However, if you miss or it gets blocked, you will get stunned. Ultimate: Goodbye[]

Overview[]

The Ghost style is a legendary styles in Untitled Boxing Game. It is currently one of the 7 legendary styles in the game. the other 6 being: Chronos, Hitman, Slugger, Hawk, Freedom and Iron fist.

The Ghost style's gimmick hides the user's M1 and M2 highlight which is the main strength of this style. The lack of a highlight allows the player to easily catch opponents as well as counter them (highlights still appear for ultimate's). Ghost is also capable of firing an instant jab ability with a cooldown. Aside from that, Ghost has all around decent stats.

Obtaining the style is either by rolling it with a chance of 0.16% or by a pity roll with a chance of 16%. Ghost Style focuses on the fundamentals, while also having a unique gimmick in the M1s.

This style is a simple and easy to learn style. It has incredible versatility, making it very good it any play style you like. If you are a player that just wants to play with a understandable style, then Ghost Style can be a great fit for you.

This Style and finishing blow (ultimate) is based off the fighting style of Ricardo Martinez.

Special Ability: Ghost Jab[]

Ghost Style (1)

The legendary Jab which is told to be unpredictable. Your undetectable motionless jab is now an ability which has around one and a half m1 string meter cooldown and no highlight for the punch at all. Decent stun, can guarantee a heavy if you have good pings enough, great as an opening strike and a combo disrupter, almost impossible to perfect dodge. The Ghost Jab can be use in many different situations like punishing bad approaches, starting combos, countering, guard baiting, and more. However it has huge endlag if it missed or gets blocked, which will get you punished. But overall, a very unpredictable and dangerous ability. High risk, high reward.

M1 and M2[]

Ghost Style (2)

Ghost M1: The start-up punch (M1) is either a left jab, left hook, or a body blow. The M1 chain consist of a slow barrage of hooks, uppers, body blows, and jabs.

These M1s are just simple fundamentals, but what makes them special, is that they have no highlights. If you don't know, an opponent will be highlighted if an incoming M1 or M2 will be thrown, which can give an opening for a counter. Having no highlights in your M1s will disorientate to opponent and may break their rhythm as well as making Ghost M1s difficult to react and counter. Solid damage, guard chipping, decent solid range, and overall, well-rounded. There are multiple uses for jabs, and this m1 suits all of them. However, a disadvantage is that it always comes from your left, thus quite predictable to perfect dodge if not used correctly.

Ghost M2: The heavy punch (M2) is a straightforward right hand.

Just like the M1s, the M2 is just a basic fundamental, but it also has no highlights, kind of. Ghost M2 is little above average speed for an M2 and having almost no highlights (small highlight at beginning) will disorientate the opponent timing to dodge the attack, giving you an easy M2 counter. Unless you're up against an experienced player, then the Ghost M2 is troublesome for your opponent to react, dodge, or counter. It always comes from your right, so it can be easily perfect dodged. Its varied timing from the m1 is very useful for disruption and unpredictability.

Like it says, Ghost M2s should be used with caution and should not spammed. Although, Ghost M2 have versatile stats like the M1s, the damage, the range, the guard break, and a slight highlight. If you use Ghost M2 in a correct fashion. Then you opponent will be completely pressured and will be knocked out with little problems.

Ultimate: Goodbye[]

Ghost Style (3)

From here, you are ready to send the match off. As your opponent tries to swing a right hand, you counter him a fast Ghost Jab to the face. As your opponent recovers from being dazed, you hit him with another quick Ghost Jab, dazing him again. You launch another Ghost Jab and your opponent tries to dodge, but the jab reaches farther. You start to finish the combo by preparing a Corkscrew punch, before showing a black screen with various fonts presenting the words "Goodbye" in the front. As the scene ends, you launch the Corkscrew punch straight to the opponent to end it off.

Thoughts & Strategies[]

Ghost is a very powerful style, even with its nerfs it can still be an absolute nightmare to fight against. It is excellent for both playing passively or agressively. Playing agressively can easily apply pressure on your opponents due to the Ghost Jab and no-hightlight M2. In contrast it will force opponents to play mind games with you when to go first or how to counter the Ghost Jab.

Below are some short strategies when using or fighting against Ghost.

Strategies Against Ghost[]

Strategy #1

  • Trying to bait out the Jab: Since the nerfs, Ghost's jab is much, MUCH more punishable.
  • When either blocking or dodging, you now have enough time to M1 the Ghost user without being hit back (unlike before). So either baiting the jab out, or holding block will give you an opportunity to strike back.
  • However do note, that if the style your playing has slower punches, then you may be countered with the Ghost Jab ability.

Strategy #2

  • Block Break: If you are able to land an M1 and combo the Ghost user then you will do temporary damage. Trying to throw an M2 will get you countered or worse, perfect dodged. By spamming your M1 when you catch the opponent you can force them to either take some chip damage or wear down their block. Keep doing this, and the damage might add up.
  • In addition the Ghost user might run out of patience and make more mistakes.

Strategy #3

  • Practice: Although its not much of a strategy, practice will help you more then trying to devote your time to a single strategy. Ghost style is very strong, and even with nerfs some might still consider it unbalanced. But since Ghost has been nerfed unrealistically hard, Ghost may look like Hitman but has the ability to do a Ghost Jab, and by Ghost Jab, the jab that has the speed of a pre-nerfed Ghost Jab.

Strategy #4

  • Predodging: It is usually clear when a ghost user will use the jab. Walk toward the ghost user, and when you are in clear range use the dodge. You will already be dodging by the time the jab is used, and this can end up as a perfect dodge. This is useful for landing ultimates and heavy strikes.
  • Try out different styles, try out different strategies, whichever works out best for you since everybody plays differently.

Strategies With Ghost[]

Strategy #1

  • Counter Playstyle: The instant Jab ability is perfect for landing easy counters. Either timing your jabs or reacting to the enemy's windup will give you easy damage, and combo.

Strategy #2

  • M1 M2 Alternating: The Ghost's M2 can be compared to Corkscrew's M2. If you're opponent is good at dodging your M1s, then alternating your M2s with delays can be a nasty combo.

Strategy #3

  • Sluggish Countering: The jab ability is also useful when fighting a slugger user. While the M2 starts to charge. instantly punch through the M2 to counter it.
